July 2008
Hi there, Bosshog here. Another great event on Sunday but it did
have it's up's and downs!
Up's:
-
I would like to thank the marshalls including gandy, bazza, raptorblue,
berti, joe & doug, for doing their best on a truly scorching
day. Thanks also to Kayla, Angie, Moley, Josh (micks son) and
to Sue for manning the 'dog inn' for the weekend.
-
Special thanks to Mick and the medical team (although we had a
very quiet day thank god), to the catering boys, sps portaloos
and sam mcgee for the bar.
- Big up for
MURRAY BOSS www.acestv.co.uk
for the loan of a grizzly- performed terrific for the weekend
and a pleasure to ride (although rather safe with that diff lock
and 4 x 4 option).
- Another big
thanks to one of our very own members RUSS TOMLINSON for the trial
on the john deere gator utility vehicle - which we have done a
deal on see www.turnergroundscare.co.uk

A
superb vehicle to show non-riders on the day what we do and to retrieve
stricken bikes & riders plus it allows hog to travel in style!
-
Special thanks to rich (a member on a Suzuki ltr 450 quad ) who
helped out all weekend and often at the expense of his own riding
, thanks mate.
- THE WHOLE
SITE WAS LEFT IMMACULATE AND CAMPING WILL CONTINUE TO BE FREE!!
- Most
importantly to you-OUR RIDERS - for turning up and supporting
us yet again, we will not let you down and the tracks will get
better as we go.
yours
BOSSHOG.
Downs
- We had a serious
INCIDENT at the weekend and severe breach of club rules. Lluckily
it was rectified within 30 min's of it happening. The rider/riders
(father and son) concerned know what they did and put the whole
club at risk by their actions. We don't name and shame but perhaps
next time we will.
- COURSE CUTTING:
it was very apparent at the weekend that a few riders did not
stick to the track and blatantly broke taped barriers. No excuses.
Easy opt out areas are provided for the less experienced riders
and will continue to be used as we promote a novice/new rider
policy. The problem arises when a more than competent rider feels
he/she just doesn't want to bother with a particular section and
its ok to ride 'where they like'. This is dangerous not only to
riders who abide by the club rules and ride the correct circuit
but also to PEDESTRIANS who may be walking along the 'non track'
'area where the course cutter is riding. Riders
will be banned for breaking through tape and blatantly
riding off piste. The easy routes are there for less experienced
riders and novices. There is no excuse for not sticking to the
track . PLEASE - IF YOU SEE TAPE DOWN PLEASE REPLACE OR NOTIFY
A MARSHALL ASAP.
- We are introducing
a no ride out policy at the venue for the road legals after PM
(this is aimed at the campsite) and this will lessen complaints
from the local villagers. I couldn't think of anything worse than
holding an event for 300 riders with no noise problems to find
the club in trouble with authorities for riding in the village
in the evening prior to the event. WE KNOW THAT ON THE DAY WE
HAVE RIDERS WHO TRAVEL TO AND FROM THE VENUE ON THEIR BIKES AND
THIS IS ACCEPTABLE.

June 2008
The
following is an excert from an email that we received after the
last event. Thanks for all the kind words Mark and we hope you get
well soon and come to see us when you can.
"Hi
Nigel reference to our phone conversation, I would like to say what
a proper job you are all making of the track and the running of
the events. I have been doing mx since I was about six years old
and yes I am now 40 and still hard at it! Trouble is, I am still
in race mode, so hence on Sunday the 29th of June in the afternoon
I had a big crash on a fast part of the track and yes it bloody
hurt! I would firstly like to thank the chap who stopped to make
sure I was ok and to stop other bikes hitting me as I was clearly
injured. I cant remember that much but he was all in blue gear and
was on a Yamaha so once again thanks mate. Secondly but not least
the overall assistance and help I received from Nigel, the paramedics
and other staff. Spot on chaps, thanks. I was swiftly taken to Northampton
general by ambulance and later found out I had broken my left clavicle,
had concussion and was badly bruised. But must say the gas they
gave me was great! So I can’t ride the bike but I am still
here so hopefully I’ll be back in 6 weeks. So once again folks,
a big thanks from the baldly geezer from Cambridgeshire by the name
of mad MARK see ya! "
